The Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games truly are Canadas Games as the 2010 Olympic Torch Relay becomes the longest in history to be contained within the Host Country. Canada is full of inspiring stories — as are Canadians. These unique and motivational stories will be shared in the months leading up to the relay, and during the time Canadians will transport the Olympic Flame from Athens, Greece to Vancouver. The 2010 Olympic Torch Relay presented by Coca-Cola and RBC will inspire and engage Canadians from coast to coast to coast as it travels along the path of northern lights — the route the Olympic Flame will illuminate as it travels towards the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games. SALT LAKE CITY (AP)—After running slightly behind New Orleans in the first quarter, the Utah Jazz ran over the Hornets in the second and kept on going. The Jazz held the weary Hornets to two field goals in the second period during a 116-90 victory Wednesday night, pulling down more than twice as many rebounds and shutting down everybody except Chris Paul. Paul Millsap extended his NBA-leading streak of double-doubles to 19 games with 27 points and 14 rebounds as the Jazz easily won the first of three meetings against the Hornets, who were exhausted from a win over the Lakers in Los Angeles the night before. We expected them to come in and give us a good ball game—especially coming off that good win against the Lakers, said Millsap, who also had five assists. We came out with more energy and more intensity and came out with the win. Paul had 26 points and seven assists for the Hornets, but got little help from his teammates as Utah controlled everything inside and outrebounded New Orleans 55-26. The Hornets held off the Lakers 116-105 the night before and the fatigue set in after the first period Wednesday. Rafael Brom - BIOGRAPHY Rafael Brom was born in Prague (formerly Czechoslovakia, but now called the Czech Republic) on August 13, 1952. He was born into a musical family. His mother was a popular professional singer, pianist, composer, and dancer. His father was an outstanding piano player and composer and grandfather was considered a musical virtuoso. In 1963, Rafael emigrated to Sarajevo. While in Sarajevo, Rafael studied several levels of Graphics Arts and Design, Communication Arts, and Fine Arts. To see Rafael's artwork visit: Rafael's Art Gallery. He was a student of several well-known Academy professors and international graphic artists. One such professor was Mersad Berber. After completing his education, Rafael worked full-time for an energy company as a graphics designer. He did this to support his mother and brother. With the help of his father, Libor, and Senator Armstrong, Rafael emigrated to the United States in 1979. Upon arriving in the United States, Rafael worked for several energy companies as a graphics illustrator. He dedicated his free time to music, painting, illustrations and helping his father publishing books. In 1983, Rafael released his first 12" vinyl record, 'Rafael Brom I'. This recording is now included on 'Dance for Padre Pio'. This album received significant airplay on public and college radio stations in the USA and Canada. After the release of this album, Rafael became a member of ASCAP. He received a special ASCAP award a few years later. Rafael moved to Los Angeles, California in 1984. While there, he established his own record label, Cosmotone Records. He also started Publishing Company Cosmotone Music (ASCAP) and a distribution company, Center for the Queen of Peace. He then released 3 more albums, 'Padre Pio' (Lord Hamilton) This recording is now included on 'Dance for Padre Pio', 'Peace of Heart', and 'The Sounds of Heaven'.
