Pop star and American Idol winner Jordin Sparks Look Back
Make This Summer Count Make this summer count! Pop star and American Idol(TM) winner Jordin Sparks has teamed with DoSomething.org, the organization that empowers teens to take action in their communities, and Staples, the world's largest office products company, to ask teens to make a difference this summer. As part of Do Something 101, (www.DoSomething101.com), teens are encouraged to collect school supplies and drop them off at their nearest Staples store, from now through August 31, to ensure they get into the hands of thousands of deserving kids just in time to head back to school. Jordin Sparks is helping raise awareness for these underserved kids by starring in the public service announcement for the campaign, airing on television and radio stations nationwide. With more than 11 million young people in the United States living below the poverty line, Do Something 101 is an easy way for teens nationwide to get involved. All school supplies will be donated locally to educational and not-for-profit organizations that serve disadvantaged youth. In addition, Staples customers can also get involved by donating $2 at any Staples store location, from now to August 31, with 100 percent of the proceeds benefiting local teens in need. Teens who want to make a difference can also go to www.DoSomething101.com for ideas on how to run local school supply drives. Suggestions include teens holding a movie night and "charging" their friends a backpack filled with school supplies as admission. Also, teens could put together a battle of the bands, car washes or carnivals with people donating school supplies at the door. Whether holding a school supply drive at summer camp, during a summer sports league, or at a neighborhood block party, Do Something has tips, resources, and flyers for how to get started and make the most of every teen's summer.

Now a new implant system, Maestro, is taking hearing technology to the next level. The system consists of the thinnest and lightest internal implant and an externally worn speech processor, allowing people to hear in "High Definition" for the first time. Advanced technology offers users greater sound detail and clarity, especially for music enjoyment and difficult listening environments like busy restaurants. The implant is also future ready and designed to implement upgrades and enhancements without needing a new device. A questionnaire of patients who participated in the Fine Structure Processing clinical trial showed: 91% of the subjects reported that, in general, music sounds pleasant with their cochlear implant 82% report listening to music every week, if not every day
