Innovators Focus: Seattle Spearheads Citywide Climate Protection
Seattle's Climate Protection Initiative accelerates climate protection action citywide and in hundreds of other cities, catalyzing grassroots action around the country and promoting essential state and federal policy changes. The program won a 2007 Innovations in American Government Award.

Innovator's Focus: Rewarding Conservation in the Blackfoot Watershed
The Grassroots Conservation Program of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service facilitates and rewards voluntary conservation of habitats for wolves, trout, grizzlies, and other wildlife in the Blackfoot Watershed through cooperative, community-based partnerships. The program is a 2006 Innovations in American Government Award winner.

Can the inhabitants of the city of Aleppo in the Northern Syria still find some loose cash in their pockets by month-end? All but one of the random sampling of people interviewed by Tharwa activists in one of the city's busiest public parks asserted that their income does not last until the end of the month, and the concept of "saving," therefore, has become impractical for them.

Positive Impact, in Miami Florida, held a course on the theology of development for future community leaders. One topic it touched on was salvation and how it liberates the whole person. Participants learned that salvation is not only a future reality, but also a present condition.
