G - Thomas Seltz
Commissioned by Edinburgh University Confucianism Study Society (CSS), G is a piece for Guzheng (Chinese harp) and chamber orchestra, which aims to advocate cultural understandings between the East and the West using the world language: Music. G shows Chinese, Celtic and Rock music influences and reflects Thomas' fresh approach to composition, combining folk sensitivity with powerful dynamics and classical control. G was played at the Reid Concert Hall, and conducted by Prof Nigel Osborne; orchestra - Composers' Orchestra; Guzheng - miss Ting Ting He, the CSS Team Leader for Chinese Music.
