The ride back was kind of a strange one. Everybody was so quiet since we left the airport. We wanted to get home before Joe and Kris got home from their honeymoon. We wanted to throw them a little welcome home party. Nick and Lacey were sitting in the back seat just staring at each other and holding hands. There was something very different about them. I'll figure it out eventually. Hey, little do they know there was something they didn't know about us either. We came back from this trip more in love with each other than we did when we left. If that is even possible. Kevin: Well were here. Me: Finally..... home Nick: Hey do you think I can stay tonight...I don't think I want to go home just yet...Mom will be going crazy with Joe coming home. I don't want to hear about it. Me: It's ok with me but is Lacey ok with it Lacey: nah, I've had enough of him already *she nudges him and He gets a funny look on his face* Nick: Fine then *joking* *then leans in for a soft kiss* We all get our stuff out of the car and head up at the same time. Kevin sees Lacey struggle with her bag before Nick did so he helped her. Just then I almost drop my suitcase and Nick catches it. As he does he grabbed my hand. He looks down at it and notices something. Nick: That doesn't look like the engagement ring Kevin gave you. Me: oh aahh um it's new. That day we went to town I saw it and Kevin got it for me so I decided to wear this today. Nick: oh uh it's really nice *looks confused* I start to get dinner ready and Lacey sets up the tables while the boys were nice enough to unpack. We sit down to eat and not much conversation is happening. Just glances back and forth. There is something in the air. Not bad just different. When we were done Nick and Kevin decided that they wanted to go get desert. They asked us if we wanted anything and we didn't so Nick leans in and kisses Lacey's neck before he leaves.
