Snow Patrol's and/or Leona Lewis' "Run," covered by Nick Devaud
It's a Leona Lewis two-fer! I've always loved this particular song since back when Snow Patrol originally released it from their "Final Straw" album. It's just plain heart-wrenching. So, who better to cover it years later than Leona Lewis, whose voice is achingly beautiful and perfect for the song? She's done it more than justice. I think highly of both versions, so my cover is a hybrid of the two. The structure is more similar to Leona's version: the first chorus is cut in half, and the chorus repeats itself an extra time for good measure. However, I wanted to keep all of the original lyrics intact, so the chorus extension in Snow Patrol's original is still there.

The second half of my Leona Lewis one-two punch, a wonderful girl named Bea wrote to ask that I would try to learn to play this song. Now, I knew the song from the radio, but I had never tried to play it on the piano, and frankly, I only really caught about 75% of what Leona was saying. So, after a day or two of figuring out the accompaniment and trying to chisel the lyrics into my brain, I was ready to fill the request... to the best of my ability, at least. Sorry about the focus going a little haywire at the end. I don't know what I must have accidentally hit on my camera, but it showed a picture of a flower, so I'm guessing it was on some mode for still-life, so every time I moved too much, it would try to re-focus. My bad!
