I Wanna Be Around - Paul Safy, Jr.
25 year old Paul Safy, Jr., is one of the most remarkable talents I have ever meet! Born and raised in Buffalo, NY. His grandfather (from Tempera, Italy) first introduced him to music and to traditional Italian classics. He remembers sitting at the piano after learning some scales (in Italian of course) and then being taught God Bless America. He recalls the song as being one of the first he ever sang. Paul comes from a very close-knit family with a younger brother and an older sister as well as his loving and supportive mother Bernadette (Scirri) and father Paul Sr. (family from Zaita, Labanon). As you may have guessed, Paul is a family kind of guy. He first got into "the crooners" when he found a tape of "Frank Sinatra's Greatest Hits" in his fathers collection. I remember listening to "That's Life" and "Forget Domani" over and over because I loved them so much. As he grew up, so did his musical interests, expanding to Elvis Presley, the Beatles, Motown, Country and the other hits of the 50s and 60s. So with a very diverse background in music genres by the time he entered high school at the age of 15, he fell in love all over again with the great crooners of the mid 20th Century. He bought up whatever he could get his hands on from Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Bobby Darin and Sammy Davis Jr. He was inspired when he first saw the film "Goodfellas". When I heard the title track "Rags to Riches" and discovered that it was Tony Bennett who was singing, the hook was in! "I became so enthralled with his style, power, and range that I couldn't stop listening." Paul is a graduate of The State University of New York at Buffalo. While attending school, he recorded his debut album Introducing Paul Safy which included two Bennett songs that he really loves; "I Wanna Be Around" and "I Left My Heart in San Francisco". They are so funny!!! Show description: JONAS is the hottest rock band on the planet. Band members Nick, Kevin, and Joe Lucas are superstar pop idols who tear up the stage night after night causing severe outbreaks of JONAS induced hysteria. Legions of fans (especially the ones determined to become a future Mrs. Lucas) want a peek at what their lives are like offstage. Behind the cool clothes and sleek guitars, they’re just 3 boys from Jersey who are living the dream. These ultra-talented brothers are also each other’s best friends and still live at home with Mom, Dad, and little brother Frankie. At school, they hang out with lifelong friend and style guru Stella Malone, who believes fashion is the sixth sense. In the school hallways, their classmate (and major fan) Macy Misagets uncontrollably excited around them, which usually means someone’s going to get injured. JONAS episodes will feature musical vignettes woven into the story. These brothers are probably the only superstar idols who still have to do the dishes, but they know how lucky they are to be living the dream. In the series, Nick, Kevin and Joe star as not all surprisingly, rock star brothers Nick, Kevin and Joe Lucas. Set in New Jersey (where they grew up), the brothers attend private school Horace Mantis Academy with their longtime friend, Stella Malone (Chelsea Staub). They also meet a self-proclaimed #1 JONAS fan, Macy Misa (Nicole Anderson), who is Stella’s best friend. Since Stella believes that fashion is a sixth sense and finds a lot of ways to personalize their school uniforms, how will she personalize Nick, Kevin and Joe’s? The series premieres in 2009. Christmas in New York City!
I had so much fun i moved to syracuse about a year ago and we had never gotten the chance to go. i went when i was little and lived in albany but never really got to shop and stuff. but since i live four hours away.. and now im in the midst of moving to NJ so i'll be closer!
