Poet
I love to love you
wise, manly and warm
wrapped tight around me
always safe from harm
you teach me every day
how to rise anew
weave a history of light
depth of me and you
every lover before
squawked mighty tales
but looking at their bodies
they seem mighty frail
bobbing for breath
weakly drowned by 'love'
go away fruitless ones
I have heard enough
you chance seeing land
then refuse to walk ashore
I won't hold your hand anymore
for years I've been in port
so go cohort with scores
while I build a fort
you continue to drift
abhorred shape shift
continue your tour
drown your own strength
go to all lengths
get lost in the mist
don't face a thing
loneliness in store
pointing all around
sinking down
beyond the brink
what did you think?
sincerely,
mayor of this town

Thomas Hardy always wished for his poetry to be accesible to the widest audience at the lowest possible price, he wanted everyone to enjoy it.
This is a one-man ongoing project, by which I intend to get all of his 948 compositions on Youtube.
The numbering followed is the one used in Gibson's "The Complete Poems", which is held as the standard by the Hardy scholarly community.
Now, although I am proficient in English, you will certainly notice it isn't my mother tongue. I am aware of my limitations and I'll always try my best. I will always provide a transcription of the poem in the description of the video, nonetheless.
7 - POSTPONEMENT
SNOW-BOUND in woodland, a mournful word,
Dropt now and then from the bill of a bird,
Reached me on wind-wafts; and thus I heard,
Wearily waiting:--
"I planned her a nest in a leafless tree,
But the passers eyed and twitted me,
And said: 'How reckless a bird is he,
Cheerily mating!'
"Fear-filled, I stayed me till summer-tide,
In lewth of leaves to throne her bride;
But alas! her love for me waned and died,
Wearily waiting.
"Ah, had I been like some I see,
Born to an evergreen nesting-tree,
None had eyed and twitted me,
Cheerily mating!"

6 - AT A BRIDAL (Nature's indifference)
WHEN you paced forth, to await maternity,
A dream of other offspring held my mind,
Compounded of us twain as Love designed;
Rare forms, that corporate now will never be!
Should I, too, wed as slave to Mode's decree,
And each thus found apart, of false desire,
A stolid line, whom no high aims will fire
As had fired ours could ever have mingled we;
And, grieved that lives so matched should miscompose,
Each mourn the double waste; and question dare
To the Great Dame whence incarnation flows,
Why those high-purposed children never were:
What will she answer? That she does not care
If the race all such sovereign types unknows.

"Strut"
You can breathe in the music the cities play
Move by the river the jipcies play
Deep inside comes alive
You got to strut like you mean it free your mind it's not enough just to dream it
Come on
Come on
Come on
Deep in the pavements kicking through the streets
No wonder like Picasso in the Barcelona heat
Passion is the fashion and life is poetry
welcome to the other worlds where every heart can beat.
You got ta strut like you mean it free your mind it's not enough just to dream it
Come on
