savelief

In this video, you'll hear 2 excerpts from a spectacle titled "Le Magasin Intergalactique". The text has been written by young children and their schoolmistresses. They asked the young French composer Alexis Savelief to write the music for the spectacle. He has chosen to write for 3 cellos, synthesizer, percussionist, and a cristal Baschet, with his usual style but a little bit easier to listen to because it was intended for children.
In the spectacle, children are walking in the streets, and they come before a shop. They see toys and draw near the showcase to see better. They put their hands on the glass and then they skip in another world, an extra-terrestrial one! The very first thing they hear is a beautiful melody which lead them away from a place to another in this alien planet...
The first excerpt is "La Mélodie Mystérieuse" (The Mysterious Melody), and the second is from the fourth tableau "La Forêt Dorée" (The Golden Forest), the most contemporary place in the score. Sorry, there are no live images because it would be too complicated to obtain authorizations from all the relatives of the children.
The Cristal Baschet is played by the famous cristalist Michel Deneuve, and the music is conducted by Alexis Savelief himself.
